“ We went for the first time today. I highly recommend the chicken Asiago, the knotty knots and the crab ragoon dip. Best food we had had in awhile. ”
“ The expansive menu with all the cute names drew us in. I mean, how can you resist sandwiches with names like: Rastafarian, or Flankenstein, or Fun Guy? Once we got in to the place and were seated in the bar area, we saw that this kind of humor maintained itself in the wall decorations. We were seated directly below the largest cast iron pan I have ever seen. There were also copper pots with matching lids mounted on the wall. I wanted to take some of them home with me! For our first visit we decided to try different things so we tried one burger, one salad, one pizza, and one pasta dish. We also tried their Torts with the Mango Salsa as an appetizer. Torts - as the menu explains - are fried tortilla chips dusted with a spice mix. They come as a side for many of the sandwiches. We really liked them as they were not greasy and the spice mix was interested and not too salty! The salsa was somewhat disappointing as it was mostly corn based and sweet - we did not detect much mango. On the other hand the Chicken Marsala, the Beet Salad, the Mushroom Pizza, and the Burger were excellent. All kinds of wonderful flavors in each of them. If there was a miss in any of that collection it was on the pizza which had a small mound of pickled red onion in the center - not necessary and a bit distracting. Portions are large - you are getting your money's worth. We ended up with leftovers for more than one additional meal. The server was excellent: explaining things and answering questions and taking care of multiple tables while not leaving any of us feeling neglected. She was also very personable and we traded stories of places we've lived at and foods we wanted to try! Oh, and speaking of large portions, the burgers are half a pound of meat, and then they add generous toppings. Come with a large appetite if you want to tackle one of those. With such a large and diverse menu we will definitely have to come back to experience more of their offerings. ”
“ We sat at the bar for lunch for our first visit & really loved everything. There are so many interesting options on the menu! We're excited to try more. ”
“ Wow, this place was amazing! Definitely can get busy but were seated quickly upstairs. All of the food was great - I got the guido sandwich with the torts. Good prices and portions! ”
“ The food at Brick and Mortar was excellent! We found this spot on Google when stopping through Bridgeville the weekend before Christmas. Santa was there for the kids. We sat at the bar and had a number of the house specialties - see photos. Everything was delicious, but I have to call out the house creamy Italian dressing. It was the best I've had in a long time. Also, the pork and kraut balls are totally creative and amazing. ”
“ We were visiting the area from out of town and chose to dine here based on the great reviews. We arrived around 5pm on a Saturday, which was perfect and before the crowd. We had no wait for a table. The menu options are unique and not something you can find everywhere. Service was good, but the restaurant got busy after we arrived. Our food was amazing. The knotty knots were a favorite and the buffalo soldier pizza was also great! The bacon dog and torts were also good! We will be back when in town again! ”
“ Went in today for lunch. Delicious food as always. They have the best Garlic Knots ever. Honey garlic knots are simply to die for. And no one in Pittsburgh can make a better pizza. Always so darn good. This place never disappoints. ”
“ Love Brick N Mortar!!! Some of the best food in Pittsburgh, fresh ingredients and generous portions! I had the Cuban sandwich, and my boyfriend had the flankenstein steak sandwich on pita. Everything was so delicious!! You must get the mango salsa with your tortas (chips) if you go, it’s their specialty! Also got the white chocolate lemon cheesecake which was incredible. I want everything on the menu! ”
